Samsung Introduces Smart Card IC with High Memory Capacity

Samsung has announced it has developed a 2MB flash memory-embedded smart card IC, which doubles memory capacity in comparison with existing products. Samsung's new offering will be able to expand messaging and gaming functions on mobile phones. The company stated that the smart card IC will be produced on its 300 mm wafer production line, and that it will also be used in 3G handsets.
